Your day to day

We'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as an Electrician on a full time six month contract. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll maintain all electrical operations of the resort to keep it operating with minimal interruptions and running like clockwork, from changing lights to tracing distribution board faults.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out testing and tagging.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Assisting in any after hour emergencies as required.
• Maintaining records and documentation associated with all work undertaken.

What we need from you

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate in Electrotechnology, Queensland General Safety Induction Card (White Card) and a valid LVR certificate and open driver's licence, with High Voltage experience desired.

You will have a minimum of 2-3 years experience and be familiar with Microsoft Office, and reporting tools such as HotSoS, Hardcat. Previous exposure to resort or a remote island environment is advantageous, alternatively you would be excited to utilise their strong technical skills in a new diverse and challenging environment.

Reporting to Engineering Manager, you’ll maintain all refrigeration and HVAC operations of the resort to keep it operating with minimal interruptions and running like clockwork.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Repairing all manner of Refrigeration and HVAC issues around Resort
• Diagnose and find solutions to Refrigeration & HVAC problems around the resort
• Proactively showing initiative with ideas, problem solving, amendments and providing regular updates.
• Undertake work from CMMS System, prioritising works that are needed to be completed.
• Assisting in any after hour emergencies as required

What we need from you

As the ideal candidate will have a history and background in Commercial, Industrial or Residential refrigeration, with exposure to a resort or hotel environment a plus.

Minimum qualifications are as follows;

• Trade Qualification (Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic)
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Drivers Licence
• Construction Card

With the following being highly desirable as additions;

• Electrical licence and relevant experience
• CPR/LVR Certificate

• Interventions will have a focus on evidence-based practice and can be carried out one-on-one or to a group

Requirements:

• Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy (with AHPRA registration)
• Some clinical experience working with children and or adults with disabilities is desirable but not essential

This role will be predominantly based at their Bowen site, but travel to the Proserpine site would also be involved, when needed.

To be considered for this role, the right person must be a trade qualified Automotive Technician (as the role is semi-productive) with strong dealership experience. They must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be computer literate, have a commitment to excellent customer service and have a strong ability to multi-task.
